About the Role

As an NEMT Driver Ambassador, you will serve as the face of JewelRide across St. Louis, St. Charles, Kirkwood, and Hazelwood. In this role, you will provide safe, punctual, and courteous transportation for passengers traveling to medical appointments and other authorized community destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Passenger Support: Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles safely, ensuring proper use of mobility aids while delivering empathetic, respectful service to seniors, minors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Vehicle & Operational Safety: Maintain a clean, comfortable, and sanitary vehicle environment while strictly obeying all traffic laws and defensive driving protocols.
  • Navigation & Scheduling: Utilize onboard GPS systems to navigate routes efficiently across St. Louis and St. Charles counties, ensuring on-time arrivals and departures.
  • Communication & Documentation: Complete accurate daily trip logs, verify rider information, communicate professionally with dispatchers and healthcare personnel, and immediately report any incidents or vehicle maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and experience operating passenger vehicles or transport vans.
  • Safety Commitment: Proven dedication to passenger safety, defensive driving practices, and proper securement of mobility devices.
  • Customer Service Mindset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive interactions with passengers, caregivers, and medical facility staff.
  • Reliability: Strong time-management skills with the ability to adhere to schedules and manage multiple trips daily.
  • Physical Ability: Capability to assist passengers with limited mobility, including light physical assistance and handling equipment when necessary.
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfort using smartphones, tablets, GPS navigation apps, and electronic trip logging platforms.
  • Certifications & Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire); prior experience in NEMT, healthcare transport, or professional driving is a plus.
  • Screenings: Ability to pass required background checks and drug screenings in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
