Needle Line Tech (nights)

Summary

The Needle Line Technician (night shift) participates in the loading of fiber and the unloading of finished rolls. Requires the ability to understand and make adjustments to several types of industrial computers. Maintain maximum attention to paperwork details and the recording of correct information. Responsible for the care and repair of needle boards.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Read batch sheets fully in order to meet requirements for that specific batch.
  • Assisting co-workers in machine setups and maintenance.
  • Exercise initiative to perform job duties without direction.
  • Ability to work day or night shift and extended hours as needed.
  • Requires mathematical skills in order to work with fractions, positive and negative numbers.
  • Report any quality problems to Supervisor immediately.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times by following the company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work environment by performing cleaning duties daily and on a weekly basis.
  • Make adjustments to machinery in order to get/keep material within desired specifications.
  • Responsible for repair and rotation of needles in each used needle board.
  • Clean and monitor boards for wear.
  • Keep a strict inventory of supplies needed and be responsible for all tools used to achieve duties.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.

Education And Experience

  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • Satisfactorily complete 3 months on-the-job training.

Licensure/Certification

  • Tow Motor Certification desired, not required.

Typical Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day, including prolonged standing and walking, bending, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Able to wear required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working as required by the job.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
  • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday but could include shift work, weekends, evenings and/or holidays - flexibility is required as job duties demand.

Pay Range For This Role

18.70 - 18.70 USD per hour(United Felts)
