About the role
The Risk – Patient Safety Manager at Nebraska Spine Hospital is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of the hospital's patient safety and risk management strategies. This includes reviewing, screening, and initiating investigations of patient incidents/occurrences, overseeing proactive risk assessments, and managing professional and general liability claims.
Responsibilities
- Reviews, screens, and initiates investigation of patient incidents/occurrences reported in the incident reporting system.
- Completes analysis and closure of events within the timeframe specified by NSH.
- Plans, implements, and oversees Patient Safety and Risk Management activities for the Hospital.
- Facilitates compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Directs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings with involved parties, completes paperwork, and monitors action plans.
- Manages professional and general liability claims.
- Works with hospital committees related to patient care issues.
- Supports the Grievance committee and oversees the disclosure process.
- Prepares reports/summaries for relevant committees and ensures the Patient Safety Plan/Program is compliant with Joint Commission/CMS standards.
- Maintains and applies knowledge of new and changing accreditation, licensing, and readiness programs for TJC, CMS, and other regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- RN licensure
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Certified Professional in Healthcare in Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred

Pay
The posted compensation range is $33.84 - $50.34 /hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
80 hours per pay period, Monday-Friday, Day shift, Non-remote.
