About the Role
Assist certified radiographers in radiographic operations, including technique selection, material positioning, film exposure, and defect identification in castings and weldments. Perform darkroom procedures to develop film and learn to interpret results based on defect seriousness, codes, standards, and customer specifications. Prepare documentation of the inspection process and handle parts using forklifts, hoists, and other lifting equipment. Learn radiation safety policies and procedures to ensure safety for personnel and the public. Obtain certifications and assist in other NDT disciplines as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED; post-High School education in NDT or a technical field preferred.
- Ability to learn and practice W.C. and N.R.C. Radiation Operating, Emergency, & Security Procedures.
- Ability to learn and complete certification to RT Level II, SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, MIL-STD-2132, Navsea Tech Pub. 010/271.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
