About the role

NDT Technician - Level II positions are available at AT&F, a major producer of components for construction cranes, mining equipment, defense projects, structural sections for shipbuilding, power industry related components, and specialty stainless steel fabrications. Located in Cleveland, this position offers no travel and secure employment with a large backlog of work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality weld inspections using various methods in accordance with industry standards and contract specific requirements.
  • Provide factual, comprehensive data and draft reports for customers addressing NDT inspection criteria completely.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Production, Customers, and Third Party Surveyors as required.
  • Prepare Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Reports.
  • Review and certify final documentation for customers.
  • Must be qualified and certified to ASNT-TC-1A in one or more of the following NDT Methods that will be utilized: Visual Examination (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
  • Previous Level II Certification to ASNT-TC-1A including documented objective evidence of classroom and on the job training experience.
  • Experience in the inspection of metal fabrications, pressure vessels, piping, tanks, or gas systems.
  • Current AWS CWI - plus.
  • Must have an HS diploma or equivalent.

Requirements

  • Minimum NDT Level I / II certification.
  • Minimum 600 logged hours in any one (1) of the following areas: Visual, Dye Penetrant (combination of Type I and Type II), Magnetic Particle (combination of Dry Method & Wet Method), Ultrasonic (Thickness & Shearwave).
  • Ability to set up and perform NDT test procedures.
  • Proficiency in interpreting specifications relative to NDT testing and acceptance/rejection criteria.
  • Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified.
  • Ability to prepare written instructions and organize and report the results of examinations.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently and support team members.

Skills

  • ASNT-TC-1A certification in one or more of the following NDT Methods: Visual Examination (VT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT).

Pay

The pay range for this role is $26.00 - $34.00 per hour. Starting pay depends on your skills, experience, and ability to perform the job.
