NDT Level III Inspector, Capabilities

About the role

The NDT Level III Inspector – Multi-Method plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of materials and assemblies through nondestructive testing. This position involves setting up, calibrating, and operating inspection equipment, interpreting test results, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform nondestructive testing using RT, UT, PT, MT, or VT methods on ferrous and non-ferrous materials according to approved procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate inspection equipment while ensuring proper documentation of calibration and traceability.
• Interpret and evaluate inspection results against drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Prepare accurate, detailed inspection reports and maintain organized records of findings and activities.
• Support safe work practices and collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure compliance and inspection integrity.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional nondestructive testing experience applying multiple inspection methods.
• Documented Level II certifications in RT, UT, PT, MT, or VT.
• Active IRRSP certification.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret inspection results and apply applicable codes, standards, and technical specifications.
• Ability to travel as required and work independently in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, or other high-consequence manufacturing environments.
• Experience mentoring or guiding Level I technicians or trainees.
• Familiarity with digital inspection reporting systems or electronic quality management systems.
• Experience working with complex weldments, castings, or structural assemblies.
