NDT Level II Inspector

About the Role

Southern Tool Inspection, a fast‑growing inspection company in the oil and gas industry, provides inspection services for all downhole tubular goods. The company is seeking NDT Certified Inspectors with magnetic particle testing (MT) and penetrant testing (PT) experience to work on oilfield down‑hole tools such as BHA components on rigs.

Responsibilities

• Perform nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections on downhole tubular goods, including MT and PT.
• Clean and prepare tools for personal use or for other inspectors.
• Visit customer facilities, rig sites, and pipe yards to conduct inspections.
• Document inspection results using a tablet, laptop, or computer.
• Maintain compliance with safety training requirements (Safeland, Rigpass, H2S).

Requirements

• Current MT and PT certifications; actively inspected within the last 6 months.
• Additional NDT certifications (UT shear wave/wall thickness, Eddy Current) are a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified NDT inspector with documented inspection hours.
• Ability to pass a drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a safety‑mindset.
• Ability to take instruction, work as part of a team, and demonstrate an ethical “can‑do” attitude.
• Required safety training: Safeland, Rigpass, H2S (beneficial).
