NDT INSPECTOR

About the role

The Non-Destructive Testing Lab (NDT) supports the shipyard by providing all necessary NDT services as per specifications, drawings, standard procedures, and regulatory agencies. Services include Radiography (R/T), Ultrasonic Testing (U/T), Magnetic Particle Testing (M/T), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Chemical Spot Testing, Metal Monitor Testing, Hardness Testing, Cathodic Protection Surveys, Metallurgical Sample Preparation and Analysis, Eddy Current Testing, and reviewing and approving subcontractor-provided radiographs and NDT procedures.

Responsibilities

• Must be proficient as a Level ll in at least 2 major methods (MT, PT, RT, or UT)
• Candidate must attain ASNT IRRSP or equivalent radiation safety 5-year certificate
• Perform on-the-job training for Level l employees
• Perform NDT in accordance with applicable procedures
• Perform specific setup and calibration of equipment

Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience in NDT or at least two years of engineering or science study
• Must have a Level ll certification by examination

Qualifications

• Must be proficient as a Level ll in at least 2 major methods (MT, PT, RT, or UT)
