About the role
The Quality Organization at Electric Boat plays a critical role in ensuring every component meets the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability. Quality Inspectors are responsible for performing inspection duties throughout the facility, including verifying attributes for welds, structures, and components.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection duties throughout the facility
- Verify attributes for welds, structures and components
- Train in Quality Control systems, Electric Boat procedures, and Quality Department Instructions
- Maintain MT or PT certification
- May be trained in additional inspection disciplines such as UT, Pre-Test, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.
- Embody Electric Boat's Core Values and work safely
- Ensure first-time quality for sailors and their families
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent AND 2+ years of related technical experience
- Certified Level II in at least MT or PT in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A/ NAS-410/ EN-4179/NSTR-99 or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain EB MT and/or PT certification within the first month of employment
- Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed throughout inspection process
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to work at heights, tightly confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions
- Able to document, record, and archive work accurately
- Possess basic hand tools
- Work all shifts, extended week days, and weekends as required
Qualifications
