About the role
The NDT Inspector - Associate position at Valmont is part of a team focused on ensuring the quality and integrity of fabricated materials used in various projects. This role involves evaluating assemblies, conducting inspections using different nondestructive testing methods, and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the assembly of fabricated materials by dimensional checks, visual inspection of welds, and conduct nondestructive testing using ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and liquid penetrant processes.
- Coordinate the Quality area to meet production goals and ensure timely completion of work.
- Complete daily paperwork and generate NDT reports and records.
- Communicate effectively within the workgroup to foster a productive environment and report issues to the supervisor.
- Interpret and evaluate examination results to ensure compliance with contract specifications and customer requirements.
- Reject material or stop work in process to prevent financial loss and customer dissatisfaction.
- Maintain essential tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Participate actively in department safety initiatives and adhere to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and consistent attendance and accountability for assigned tasks.
Requirements
- High School diploma and 5+ years of work/educational experience, or Associate's Degree with 2+ years' experience, or Bachelor's Degree.
- 2 years’ experience in fabricated steel environment.
- Basic mathematic calculations, including conversion of fractions to decimals.
- Use of basic measuring tools, such as tape measure, calipers, fillet weld gauges, and levels.
- Level I NDT certifications or ability to obtain Level I certification within 90 days.
- Ability to operate NDT testing equipment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and 5+ years of work/educational experience, or Associate's Degree with 2+ years' experience, or Bachelor's Degree.
- 4 years’ experience in fabricated steel environment.
- Associate's Degree in NDT from an accredited school.
- SATC-TC-1A NDT Level I in UT and Mag Particle.
- Competence in basic quality assurance disciplines including the use of dimensional inspection and gauging equipment.
- NDT (non-destructive testing) experience.
- Passion and integrity to excel and deliver exceptional results.

Pay
$27.93/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential
