About the role
Turner Specialty Services, L.L.C. is seeking an experienced NDE Technician - Level II for work in the Lake Charles, LA area. Required duties are associated with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) in accordance with the referencing code. Must be certified in Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), at a minimum. If you do not currently hold the certification, you must show a certificate from classroom training and required field experience.
Responsibilities
- Conducts NDT inspections in various methods.
- Interprets and reports results of inspections.
- Provides support to Level III.
- Instructs and/or supervises trainees.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Must pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- Must be certified in UTT, PT, MT, VT, and XRF-PMI.
- Per diem is not available for this position; local candidates preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have a TWIC card.
- Documentation needed: NDE classroom training records, OJT hours, past certifications, and resume.
Physical Involvement
- Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level.
- Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.
- Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials.
- Coordinating the movement of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Lifting 30-50 lbs. from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead.
- Carrying objects, tools, etc.
- Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods.
- Seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
- Following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills.
- Planning work and comparing differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using measurable standards.
- Following oral and/or written directions, plans, and blueprints.
- Reading and writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.
