About the role

The Construction Services Business Class Lead position is available in HDR's North Carolina Water Business Group, based in Charlotte, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem. This role oversees the delivery of construction projects and leads a team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of individual and a portfolio of construction projects of our growing municipal water business while coordinating and engaging directly with project, design, and client management teams.
  • Lead our Construction Services team, including Construction Services Project Managers, Resident Project Representatives, and Administrative Support.
  • Partner with our design teams and technical staff for the construction phase of projects to ensure the successful implementation of designs into installed infrastructure.
  • Maintain continuous contact with clients and contractors regarding ongoing construction projects.
  • May require occasional field construction inspection and frequent on-site visits to active construction sites.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience managing a team
  • 15 years of experience in construction-related field
  • Experience with construction management software packages and Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Primavera, and related programs is preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills, and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field, 10 years of experience, and a commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with construction management software packages and Microsoft Office Suite, Prolog, Primavera, and related programs is preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills, and ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong skills in working with contractors and administering the overall construction process
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience working with construction documentation
