NC Programmer
About the role
Develop NC programs for standard and custom parts using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Turret Punch and Brake Press equipment. Review engineering drawings/blueprints to determine machine assignments, tooling requirements, and manufacturing methods. Create part models and layouts using CAD software and generate setup sheets, routing documentation, and program packages. Work within manufacturing systems to acquire, analyze, and report production and operational data. Maintain and update the NC programming database, including engineering change orders (ECOs), bills of material (BOMs), routings, and associated manufacturing records. Create and maintain manufacturing routings to ensure accurate production execution and scheduling. Support BOM accuracy and configuration management to align engineering designs with manufacturing requirements. Perform make-versus-buy analysis to support cost-effective manufacturing decisions and supply chain strategies. Provide technical support for NC equipment, including troubleshooting program issues and training setup operators. Identify and implement opportunities to improve programming efficiency, reduce cycle times, and lower manufacturing costs. Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles and best practices. Maintain programming equipment, software, and related supplies.
