About the role
Operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers (3 Axis) to mill shapes or patterns into the material on aerospace/aircraft parts.
Responsibilities
- Set up machines of 3 and 5 axis and fixtures to machine production parts with in standard time.
- Sets up all tools.
- Verifies part conformity using precision measuring equipment as required.
- Performs related bench work.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
- Reads/follows shop order/planning instructions, maintains material traceability and performs written entries into shop orders as required.
- Reads/drills/routing operations set up to carry out the specified operation.
- Determines tools required to perform a variety of close tolerance drilling, tapping and milling operations.
- Pulls required fixtures, holding devices and materials.
- Inserts tools in tool holders and installs per-set tools in machine.
- Adjusts tool travel distances, may make program adjustments as required.
- Inputs required program instructions.
- Makes program adjustments as required.
- Makes program adjustments as needed to support production.
- Makes program adjustments as needed to support production.

- Monitors machine operations.
- Inspects machined parts to ensure job specifications are maintained.
- Stocks inventory and puts tools away in proper place.
- Ensures machinery and area is kept clean and maintained.
- May operate multiple machines.
Requirements
- Previous CNC machine operation experience required.
- Previous Fanuc and Siemens control experience helpful.
- Has proficiency in basic shop math skills and understands machining practices in a variety of materials.
- Able to read shop blueprints.
- Able to carry out instructions from written, verbal or diagram form.
- Able to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Strong mechanical aptitude desired.
- High school diploma or general degree (GED) education or equivalent.
- 5 years of experience in CNC Machining use of Fanuc and Siemens controls helpful.
- Math Skills – Must know shop math i.e. trigonometry, decimals, fractions.
- Basic Computer Skills – able to learn new screens, spreadsheet, reports, functions and simple software programs with assistance.

- Base Compensation: USD 20.00 - 25.00 Paid Hourly.
