NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Lead

About the role

This position leads bridge inspections and prepares reports in accordance with NBIS and NCDOT. It involves physical inspections of various structures and requires a valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge inspections and prepare reports in accordance with NBIS and NCDOT
• Perform physical inspections of in-service bridge and culvert structures, overhead sign structures, and metal traffic signal poles
• Maneuver extension ladders, handle small boats, and work from under bridge inspection equipment
• Work in environments with potential environmental hazards such as hot and cold temperatures, snakes, spiders, poison oak, and poison ivy

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years experience
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
• Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of bridge inspection experience OR BS in Civil Engineering, EIT and two years of bridge inspection experience OR PE license and two years of bridge inspection experience
• Applicable NHI certifications
• Experience with NCDOT inspection software
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record
• Willing to travel (overnight) / perform field work
• Local candidates are preferred
