NAVILINE SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

About the role

Cary’s IT Department is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Naviline System Administrator to support the systems and technology that enable essential government operations and services. The Naviline System Administrator provides operational and technical support for the organization’s Naviline enterprise application, which is hosted by a third-party vendor (Central Square) on an IBM i (AS/400) platform. This role is responsible for administering application security, supporting users, assisting with system upgrades, and developing queries to provide access to operational data. The Naviline System Administrator works closely with internal departments, IT staff, and the Naviline vendor to ensure the system remains secure, reliable, and responsive to business needs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Enterprise Applications Manager. Beyond daily operations, you’ll also play a significant role in assisting in the migration of data and processes from our Naviline system to more modern enterprise applications. This is a multi-year effort that will eventually see the retirement of our AS400 instance and the Naviline application suite. To this end, approximately 80% of your time will be focused on supporting and working with Naviline, with the remaining 20% dedicated to learning and supporting other enterprise applications.
