About the role

Under general supervision from the Associate Dean, College and Career Readiness, this position is responsible for providing case management to students in Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs, along with student transition to and success in post-secondary courses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate IET recruitment events throughout the academic year.
  • Provide case management services including developing and offering orientations, administering assessments, conducting academic interviews, and creating academic plans for IET programs.
  • Monitor student progress and analyze data to identify students at risk for not completing their courses or program; provide ongoing support and needed interventions in collaboration with college resources, and refer students to appropriate resources as needed.
  • Develop and offer orientations to help students learn about their options for completing developmental education and available services.
  • Enhance accuracy of course placement and support successful course completion by creating academic plans with students in collaboration with appropriate college resources.
  • Administer assessments and conduct student academic interviews to inform creation of plans.
  • Collaborate and coordinate regularly with instructors, the Office of Student Accessibility, advisors, counselors, and student support services provided by WCTC, along with community stakeholders, external partners, and WIOA partners, to refine processes and promote student success.
  • Develop and use tools and processes to enter data, create reports, track activity for grant accountability, and promote retention, transition to target postsecondary courses, and course success.
  • Lead and engage in college-wide initiatives (e.g., training, committees, campus events) to create innovative strategies to support enrollment, retention, completion, and overall student success.
  • Create, develop, and implement strategic programming that supports student retention, which may include trainings, mentorship from external partners, workshops, classes, etc.; evaluate effectiveness for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate, lead, and partner with academic professionals (e.g., Deans, Associate Deans, Faculty, and other personnel) to develop best practices related to the retention and graduation of students; collect feedback formally and informally from stakeholders.
  • Organize and co-lead the IET Advisory Committee.
  • Support the transition of Adult Basic Education students to post-secondary education.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to organize and coordinate projects to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including group presentations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with multiple diverse constituencies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Two years of related work experience in secondary or higher education, such as teaching, advising, career planning, placement services, and/or case management.
  • Experience working with students needing academic support.

Supplemental Information

This is a limited-term, grant-funded position through June 30, 2027. Work is in person on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Position is benefits eligible.
