Responsibilities
- Providing installation and testing support, development of simulation equipment, and system setups/tests in both a lab environment.
- Perform software and hardware testing while developing and following test procedures.
- Uses test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (i.e. drills, screwdrivers) in a electronics lab environment.
- Develop and improve internal procedures, templates, standards, and other documents that are clear, have the correct level of detail and are easy to follow.
- Provide operational navigation software development and testing.
- Developing and performing software tests, typically focusing on: Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, and Usability Testing.
- Communicating directly with software developers to understand the software requirements for the purposes of developing tests.
- Thoroughly documenting bugs discovered during testing and making recommendations to developers on product improvements where necessary.
- Identifying opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency and test coverage.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree or High School diploma
- 8+ years prior Navy submarine navigation experience
- Active DoD Secret clearance and US citizenship
- Proficiency with panel assembly, managing material requisitions and logistics
- Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams
- Proficiency in the use of test and diagnostic tools associated with low voltage electronics
- Ability to perform testing in accordance with documented test procedures
- Familiar with low voltage test equipment such as a FLUKE meter and signal simulator
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Vision and Microsoft Suite of products
- Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD
