Navigation Lab Manager
About the role
Noblis MSD is seeking an Electronics Test Lab Manager to support the US Navy.
Responsibilities
- Provide installation and testing support, develop simulation equipment, and set up/systems tests in a lab environment.
- Perform software and hardware testing while developing and following test procedures.
- Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (drills, screwdrivers) in an electronics lab environment.
- Develop and improve internal procedures, templates, standards, and other documents that are clear, detailed, and easy to follow.
- Develop and perform software tests, focusing on: Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, and Usability Testing.
- Communicate directly with software developers to understand software requirements for the purpose of developing tests.
- Thoroughly document bugs discovered during testing and make recommendations to developers on product improvements where necessary.
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve operational efficiency and test coverage.
- Work in an office setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- 8+ years of prior Navy submarine navigation experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
- Proficiency with panel assembly, managing material requisitions and logistics.
- Proficiency in reading electrical diagrams.
- Proficiency in the use of test and diagnostic tools associated with low voltage electronics.
- Ability to perform testing in accordance with documented test procedures.
- Familiarity with low voltage test equipment such as a FLUKE meter and signal simulator.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods, often on uneven, wet, or slippery surfaces.
- Climbing vertical ladders, stairs, and steep inclines while carrying tools or equipment.
- Working in confined spaces with limited ventilation and restricted movement.
- Maintaining stability on moving vessels.
- Responding quickly to emergency situations.
Desired Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Vision, and Microsoft Suite of products.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
