Amentum is seeking a Software Simulation Engineer to contribute to modeling and simulation design, advancing military technology and communication methods for Integrated Air and Missile Defense.
Responsibilities
- Support hardware/software integration efforts.
- Conduct independent assessments of software development and related data models.
- Support integration, troubleshooting, and deployment of emulators/simulators.
- Participate in internal/external reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, and software life-cycle activities.
- Provide regular status updates to leadership, identify risks, and work proactively.
- Prepare software deliveries, Version Description Documents, and other configuration management-related materials.
- Perform configuration management on UNIX/LINUX-based platforms using UNIX/LINUX tools and utilities.
- Perform system configuration/modification on Windows.
- Perform system compiles, builds, and distribution of software, including developing:
- Build procedures
- Quality Assurance check procedures
- Configuration Item tracking processes
- Change Request (CR) management processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) disciplines, including:
- Control of software source code
- Environments and reproducibility principles
- Change Control Management
- Identification Management
- Release Management
- Experience using MS Office products (Word, Access, Project, and PowerPoint).
- Five (5) years of experience with software integration for large software-embedded systems (e.g., weapon systems or combat systems), including:
- Software identification, change control, auditing, and status accounting
- System compile and build
- Software release management and distribution
- Experience using code management tools for LINUX applications such as Git.
- Active SECRET US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required to obtain clearance).
Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cross-program SIM-to-SIM integration and testing, including HWIL and HLA.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in software end-to-end testing and/or HWIL testing.
- Strong background in simulator/emulator design, development, and use for integration and V&V.
- Knowledge of software architectures, combat or fire control software, requirements development, RF communications, and TCP/IP implementations.
- Experience developing procedures, specifications, and non-conformance documentation.
- Familiarity with C, C++, Java, scripting languages, XML, and object-oriented development.
- Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary technical coordination.
Pay
US: $110,000 to $130,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
