Natural Resources Management Specialist.
Duties
- Develop Organizations Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan and associated annual work plans.
- Develop the Environmental Awareness Program designed to inform personnel on the need to protect the environment and how to minimize damage to the lands.
- Implement programs to monitor the condition of natural resources to include soils, vegetative communities, climatic conditions and surface or ground water quality.
- Prepare and review environmental documentation and permits for activities such as construction and training exercises to assess the impact on the installation and the mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Tier 1, Non Sensitive, Low Risk background is required.

Basic Requirement Biologist
- Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
- Or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for the education part)
Specialized Experience
Along with meeting the Basic Requirement you must also meet the Specialized Experience for this position. Have one year of specialized experience which includes the following:
- Perform work to ensure the organization meets compliance for requirements such as the National Environmental Policy Act for its natural resources;
- Assist with providing information or create written plans to accomplish things such as manage, monitor, clean up or provide guidance for natural resources;
- And perform inspections of lands to ensure compliance or assess damage or monitor repairs or clean-up for damaged property.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
Education
