Natural ADABAS Developer

About the role

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Natural ADABAS Developer with 8+ years of experience to analyze and develop system requirements, code and debug Natural code, perform QA/Test, and support code migration to a production environment. The candidate must have experience with PIPS Application Services, possess a current Top Secret clearance, and will work fully remote within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Builds and codes applications and/or modules using Natural with ADABAS
• Develop and maintain software processes to transfer files using Connect Direct software
• Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards
• Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls
• May build add-on modules using application program language
• Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools
• Maintains and modifies existing software applications
• Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution
• Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures
• Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications
• Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience (or commensurate experience). Required skills and experience:

• Currently possess a Top Secret clearance
• Strong experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
• Experience of large‑scale applications on a mainframe platform or client/server environment developing in both Batch and Online environments
• Experience working with customers in defining requirements
• Strong proficiency working with customers to define requirements
• Strong ability to design solutions across multiple systems or sub‑systems
• Demonstrated experience interacting with software application program development and management personnel
• Proficient in O365 components (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Working knowledge using IBM’s Connect:Direct for file transfers
• Proficiency programming in Natural using ADABAS
• Experience developing with Software AG’s NaturalONE Eclipse‑based development environment
• Experience with IBM MQ
• Familiarity with Confluence and/or Jira
• Working knowledge of ServiceNow
• Experience with meeting hosting via MS Teams

Pay

Posted salary range: USD $94,150.00 – USD $135,012.80 per year.
