About the role
The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local history.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
- Conduct research on historical topics and prepare reports and presentations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and relevance of historical content
- Manage social media platforms to increase visibility and interaction with the public
- Work closely with volunteers and community partners to organize events and educational programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in history, museum studies, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in history education or public history
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience with digital media and social networking tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Knowledge of state and local history
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Passion for local history and its impact on communities
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with content management systems

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually
