About the role

The American Association for State and Local History seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team. This position offers opportunities to contribute to the preservation and promotion of local history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to enhance public engagement with state and local history
• Conduct research on historical topics and prepare reports and presentations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and relevance of historical content
• Manage social media platforms to increase visibility and interaction with the public
• Work closely with volunteers and community partners to organize events and educational programs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in history, museum studies, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in history education or public history
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Experience with digital media and social networking tools
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and local history
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Passion for local history and its impact on communities

Skills

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 annually

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
