About the role

Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is seeking a motivated International/Foreign Credential Admissions Counselor to be the first point of contact for prospective students and help enroll them in online degree programs. This role involves guiding non-traditional students through the admissions process and providing a roadmap for success from application through completion of their first few classes.

What you'll do

  • Reach out to new and prospective online students by implementing a phone campaign strategy that includes 100+ dials and 3+ hours of talk time per day
  • Introduce new students to the online classroom environment
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of student information while maintaining confidentiality
  • Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students via phone, email, and text
  • Champion the GCE mission, promoting Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth
  • Meet performance goals and generate referral activities
  • Guide prospective students through the admissions process by clearly communicating program requirements, transfer credits, payment options, time commitment, technology requirements, and student support services

Requirements

  • Must reside in or near Maricopa County, AZ
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; candidates with related work experience will be considered
  • No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in credit report (if in rehabilitation program, credit report must reflect current, not delinquent, payments)
  • Outstanding time management skills with ability to prioritize competing priorities
  • Clear communication skills (phone and writing), well-developed listening skills, great follow up skills, and comfort helping prospective students work through concerns or roadblocks
  • Self-motivation and drive to succeed
  • High emotional intelligence with ability to demonstrate empathy
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred qualifications

  • Foreign language skills
  • Work experience outside of the U.S., or multicultural experience
  • Relevant industry related professional experience
  • Experience working with CRM tools
  • Prior call center experience

Training

New hire training encompasses three full weeks. One week is held in-person at the Phoenix, AZ campus and the following two weeks are held virtually via Zoom.

Pay

Starting salary is $50,000 per year, depending on prior higher education enrollment experience, with earning potential of up to six figures after 5 years of successful service.
