Nationally Traveling Apartment Maintenance
About the Role
Monarch Investment & Management Group is hiring a Traveling Maintenance Technician to join our National Traveling Crew based in St. Louis, MO. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and traveling across the country. You’ll support apartment communities that need extra help—working with a skilled team to complete repairs, unit turns, and property improvements.
Travel Schedule
3 weeks traveling - (50 - 75% in the St. Louis area, 25 - 50% out of state) 1 week off at home (12 weeks off + regular PTO). Assignments across 83,000+ units in 26 states.
Compensation
$24.00 – $28.00 per hour. Bonus: $2,500 after 90 days. Consistent 50-hour work weeks (overtime available). $50/day per diem while traveling. Annual raises up to 5%.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders based on priority
- Perform unit turns / make-ready preparation
- Interior & exterior painting and staining
- General maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall)
- Assist with renovations, capital projects, and major repairs
- Support on-site maintenance teams
- Complete special projects as needed
Qualifications
- 1+ year of maintenance experience (apartment or related field preferred)
- Experience with drywall repair, painting, and carpentry
- Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
- Some experience with HVAC and water heaters preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to quality service
- Candidates may be asked to demonstrate basic maintenance skills during the interview.
Requirements
- Ability to travel for extended periods (3 weeks at a time)
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Must pass background check and drug screening
