National Travel Nurse (RN)

About the Role

Under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director or Registered Nurse for medical matters and the Health Services Operations Manager for administrative matters, you will participate in the promotion and restoration of patients' health, collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, and provide support to patients and all centers within New Season as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supply and administer medication pursuant to physician order and record dosage administered in the medical record.
• Conduct a daily sight and count of the medication supply inventory.
• Maintain absolute accuracy in daily accounting of medication supplied, administered, or in inventory, and safeguard medication inventory.
• Collect fees and perform daily cash reconciliation in the absence of a cashier; ensure all cash collected is given to the Program Director daily for final count.
• Receive and verify the accuracy of incoming medication shipments; advise necessary staff of any discrepancies in a timely fashion.
• Ensure disposal of medical waste through proper protocol.
• Observe patients' demeanor prior to dosing and seek guidance from the Medical Director or Registered Nurse when concerns arise.
• Promptly communicate patient issues or concerns to the Medical Director, Registered Nurse, or Program Director as appropriate, including dose requests, behavior, or other aspects of patient care.
• Contact other centers to verify dosages as needed.
• Administer appropriate lab tests as required, including patient vital signs, TB tests, and collect data for review by the Medical Director or RN.
• Schedule and screen patients to be seen by the Medical Director.
• Assist the Medical Director in collecting data for history and physical as required.
• Make medical record entries as directed by the Medical Director or RN and consistent with clinic protocol.
• Comply with federal and state privacy rules, including 42 CFR Part 2 and 45 CFR Parts 160 and 164, as well as applicable clinic policies and procedures.
• Obtain and maintain proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements.
• Actively participate in CARF preparation and state audit processes.
• Participate in all staff meetings.
• Comply with all local, state, federal, and company rules, regulations, and policies.
• Act always in the best interest of patients, the program, and the company; honor, support, and protect the proprietary rights of patients and the company.
• Interface with the public and patients by answering phones, greeting visitors, and monitoring patient activities while on center premises.
• Provide nurse services for multiple clinical locations as assigned and needed.
• Receive medical orders; ensure medical orders are documented, signed by the physician, and understood by the Program Director and other staff members as needed.
• Maintain absolute control, tracking, and confidentiality of all patient medical paperwork.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.

Requirements

• Multi-state compact RN licensure and CPR certification.
• Understanding of opiate addiction, medical terminology, and general nursing knowledge and techniques.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Computer literacy with basic knowledge of Microsoft and Google products.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct patient contact experience.
• Prior experience in a clinical environment is helpful.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Great attention to detail and high accuracy in performing daily functions.
• Ability to travel via airplane.
