POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy for our performance pet-friendly furniture line, driving revenue growth across mass retail, independent furniture retailers, and pet category channels.
- Create and own both short- and long-term sales plans including promotional planning, seasonal programs, and new account acquisition strategies.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including emerging channels, category adjacencies, and untapped regional markets within the pet-friendly home furnishings space.
- Manage and grow a defined book of accounts, ensuring sales targets, margin goals, and strategic objectives are consistently met or exceeded.
- Own delivery of assigned revenue objectives by developing and executing tailored customer and channel strategies.
ACCOUNT & RETAILER MANAGEMENT
- Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with buyers across mass retail, independent furniture retailers, and pet category retail accounts throughout the US.
- Travel regularly to meet with buyers, visit retail locations, and attend key trade shows including High Point Market, Las Vegas Market, Global Pet Expo, and other relevant industry events.
- Navigate negotiations, program changes, and competitive pressures with professionalism, balancing NewAge's commercial interests with the long-term needs of retail partners.
- Evaluate the existing customer mix across the home furnishings category, assessing profitability and strategic fit to optimize the account portfolio.
- Develop strong working relationships with buying, merchandising, and marketing teams at key retail accounts.
- Educate retail partners on the performance attributes of our pet-friendly furniture line – durability, cleanability, and design – to support effective in-store and online presentation.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
- Partner closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to align product assortment, go-to-market strategies, and promotional programs with customer needs.
- Translate customer and market insights into actionable strategies that improve category performance and competitive positioning within the performance pet furniture space.
- Work alongside the leadership team to develop incremental growth opportunities and execute against them cross-functionally.
- Effectively communicate key product portfolio updates, market trends, and sales performance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support new product introductions by providing voice-of-customer feedback to guide performance fabric, design, and assortment decisions in the sofa and broader home furnishings line.
REPORTING & MARKET INTELLIGENCE
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging consumer preferences within the home furnishings, performance fabric, and pet category retail spaces.
- Attend key industry events as a brand ambassador, staying connected to market developments and networking with key stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance, pipeline status, and account health against monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Identify process improvements, new tools, and reporting enhancements to increase sales effectiveness.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive sales experience, with a significant portion in the home furnishings sector; direct experience selling sofas or upholstered goods is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of managing and growing national retail accounts including major furniture chains and/or independent home furnishings retailers.
- Established network of buyer relationships within the US home furnishings retail landscape.
- Experience in one or more of the following is considered a strong asset: independent furniture sales representative, mass retail sales representative, or pet category retail sales representative.
- Familiarity with performance fabric or pet-friendly product categories is an advantage.
- Experience attending and representing brands at major trade shows (e.g., High Point Market, Las Vegas Market, Global Pet Expo, Casual Market).
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to navigate complex buyer conversations.
- Strong analytical and business planning skills; ability to assess profitability, identify growth levers, and develop data-supported recommendations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience an asset.
- Proficient with AI tools such as Claude to enhance productivity and day-to-day workflows.
- Self-directed and results-oriented; comfortable working remotely with a high degree of autonomy.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This is a fully remote role based in the United States, with regular domestic travel to visit customers and trade events.
- Occasional travel to NewAge's head office in Canada for head office visits and strategic planning sessions.

- Salary and bonus is based on experience and highly competitive for the right candidate.
- This is an existing vacancy and the base salary for this role is $105,000 – $120,000 USD annually at the time of the posting.
