Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out quarterly reviews to find and apply improvements that enhance routing efficiency, decrease delivery expenses, and maximize equipment use.
- Implement and oversee the use of routing tools like Territory Planner and Roadnet Routing Platform, ensuring data accuracy, prompt updates, and efficient delivery paths.
- Create and maintain national routing guidelines, ensuring uniformity, scalability, and alignment across all regions within USBL.
- Audit customer delivery frequencies and volumes to refine schedules, balance loads, and minimize equipment and environmental impacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, and Technology, to integrate automation, simplify processes, and support business goals.
- Support operating sites with contingency plans and perform cost analyses for new customers to provide effective, sustainable routing solutions.
- Create and manage reporting systems (ODI, KPIs) to track performance metrics such as pieces per truck, miles per piece, fuel consumption, and cost per case.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Required: At least five (5) years of experience in dispatch, routing, or similar transportation roles.
- Experience with various transportation routing methods, especially in foodservice distribution, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Road Net or other dispatch and routing software is advantageous.
- Familiarity with AS400, Oracle Warehouse Management Systems (SWMS), and Customer Relationship Management is helpful.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong geographical knowledge, including map reading and navigation skills, is essential.
