National Design Director - Sports Architecture

About the role

HNTB is a leading architecture and engineering firm with a rich history of delivering complex projects. This role involves leading design teams, collaborating with senior leaders, and driving innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and produce high-quality design products meeting HNTB's 4 for 4 standards (quality, time, cost, client satisfaction).
• Conduct regular project design reviews to ensure consistent excellence.
• Develop and implement strategies for the National Design Committee.
• Engage with academia through participation in studio and advisory councils.
• Represent HNTB at national design society events.
• Support strategic planning and pursue new projects across all market sectors.
• Supervise and develop the design staff.
• Develop and present pursuit strategies for various market segments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Planning, with 15+ years of experience in a large, multi-disciplinary firm.
• 10+ years of experience in the design of complex projects.

Preferred

• Master’s degree.
• Professional licenses (AIA, AICP, NCARB, PE, etc.).
