Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver on promises and fully leverage service capabilities to exceed expectations and solve client needs.
  • Review financial metrics, retention, and growth of assigned clients.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Disability, Life, FML, State Leaves, and Company Leaves (Paid and Unpaid) as well as ADA.
  • Drive client renewal strategy with input from sales and/or practice leaders.
  • Grow the company’s top consulting base through comprehensive service and direct assistance.
  • Lead finalist meetings with large teams, including complex solution discussions.
  • Proactively identify and execute cross-sell opportunities.
  • Manage merger and divestiture activities to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manage and negotiate complex performance guarantees.
  • Drive client conversations around potential downstream effects of changes to plans.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned metrics for service, client persistency, implementations, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and manage annual client strategies for persistency and profitable growth.
  • Interpret and deliver client data in relation to benchmark data.
  • Provide suggested strategies for the client’s future based on client data and industry trends.
  • Work closely with the Regional Sales Office, Implementation Manager, and internal support resources to develop an effective and efficient strategy and workflow for new and existing business.
  • Manage high-level relationships with client and broker decision-makers.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned metrics for client persistency, new customer/product implementations, and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement new business and prepare for renewal situations.
  • Perform deep analysis of raw data to identify trends and create solutions.
  • Create ad-hoc and customized reporting for top brokers and clients.
  • Support clients for system (HRIS, payroll, vendor) changes, which typically involve high levels of complexity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business or related field.
  • 5+ years of group insurance experience servicing clients/client management.
  • Group Life and Health License(s) required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage own work.
  • Champions company and department vision and goals; drives client adherence to initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Prioritizes daily responsibilities by discerning urgent needs and escalating as needed.
  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to learn and grow in an ever-changing environment.
  • At least 3 years of group insurance experience, absence management, disability, leave, and life insurance.
  • Client management, sales, or underwriting experience.
