- About Us ... (maybe we can include some but it's boilerplate? It's about the lab; might be considered substantive? The instruction: remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The "About Us" paragraph is not exactly boilerplate but could be considered generic description. However it's substantive info about the lab. Might keep? The instruction: "Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail." So we should keep the About Us paragraph if it's substantive. However we need to decide where to place it. Could be part of "About the role" or separate section? The instruction says use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we can have an "About the role" section that includes the description of the role and maybe the lab overview. But we must not repeat the job title as heading. So we can have

So we can have an "About the role" section that includes the description of the role and maybe the lab overview. But we must not repeat the job title as heading. So we can have About the role
then paragraphs.
We need to include Pay section only if posting actually states them. It does: salary range $80600 - $91000 / year. So we include Pay.
Schedule: posting mentions flexible schedule, evenings, occasional weekends, schedules can change on short notice. So we include Schedule.
Benefits: posting mentions comprehensive employee benefits program, refer to BNL | Benefits Program. So we include Benefits.
Skills: we have Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities and Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities. Could combine into Skills section? But we also have Requirements/Qualifications. The instruction: Use headings like Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We need to decide what to put where. Typically Requirements = required qualifications; Qualifications = maybe preferred? Or we could have Requirements (required) and Qualifications (preferred). Or we could have Skills separate. Let's map:
- Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities -> Requirements (or Qualifications)
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities -> Qualifications (or Preferred Skills)
- Additionally, there is Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements which could be part of Requirements or a separate section? Could be part of Requirements as well.
We need to avoid thin sections. Let's create:
About the role
with paragraphs describing the role, NSRL, liaison, etc.
Responsibilities
with - list of essential duties.
Requirements
with - list of required knowledge, skills, abilities (Bachelor, 3 years experience, communication, Excel, flexible schedule, fast-paced). Also maybe include Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements? Could be separate but we can include them under Requirements as they are requirements.
Qualifications
with - list of preferred knowledge, skills, abilities (Master's, accelerator ops, detector dev, familiarity with equipment).
Skills
maybe not needed if we covered skills in Requirements/Qualifications. But we could combine computing proficiency etc. However instruction: prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we don't need separate Skills section if we already have Requirements and Qualifications covering skills. But the instruction list includes Skills as an example heading; we can omit if not needed. However we have computing proficiency etc which are skills; they are already in Requirements. So we can skip Skills.
Benefits
with paragraph about comprehensive employee benefits program, link to BNL | Benefits Program.
Pay
with paragraph about salary range $80600 - $91000 / year, note that offers commensurate with qualifications.
Schedule
with paragraph about flexible schedule, evenings, occasional weekends, short notice changes.
We also need to include the Onsite location info? Could be part of About the role or maybe a separate note. The posting says "This is a fully onsite position located at BNL." That's substantive; we can include in About the role paragraph.
Also include the REAL-ID and UPIV requirements? Those are also requirements (security). Could be part of Requirements or a separate section like "Security Requirements". But we don't have a heading for that; we could include under Requirements as bullet points.
We must not include boilerplate like Equal Opportunity, etc. So we must remove those paragraphs.
We must not include application instructions.
We must not include duplicated lines.
We must not include the "About Us" paragraph that is generic lab description? It's somewhat boilerplate but still substantive about the lab. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The "About Us" is not exactly those categories, but it's more about the lab. It might be considered boilerplate but it's not explicitly listed. However to be safe, we could include a brief mention of Brookhaven National Laboratory as the employer in About the role. The full "About Us" paragraph is long; we could summarize but we must not summarize away detail. However we could keep it as is? It's not navigation/legal/EEO etc. It's descriptive. The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep the About Us paragraph if it's substantive. But it's quite long and maybe considered boilerplate? It's about the lab's achievements, Nobel prizes, etc. That's substantive. However the instruction also says "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." Including a long About Us paragraph might be okay as part of About the role.
But we need to avoid duplication: The About Us paragraph appears near the end. We'll include it in About the role section maybe after the role description.
We must not include the "Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer" etc. So we will cut that.
We must not include the "*VEVRAA Federal Contractor..." etc.
We must not include the "Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA) operates and manages the Laboratory for DOE." That's part of About Us; we can keep.
Thus About the role will contain:
- Opening for a NASA Space Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) staff member to join the team at the NSRL facility.

Brookhaven Lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory with seven Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, 37 R&D 100 Awards, and more than 70 years of pioneering research. The Lab is primarily
