About the Role
A warm and professional Lower Manhattan family is seeking an experienced, proactive nanny to become a trusted partner in raising their happy infant son. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a developmentally knowledgeable childcare professional who enjoys supporting early milestones, exploring the city with children, and serving as a steady, collaborative guide for first-time parents.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- 45 guaranteed hours per week
- Occasional overnights may be requested when both parents are traveling for work, though this is expected to be infrequent
Start Date: Mid-September 2026 is preferred for a gradual transition alongside the family's Newborn Care Specialist.
The Child
- The family has one infant boy who will be approximately 3 months old at the start of the position
- He is thriving, healthy, happy, and currently achieving age-appropriate developmental milestones
- He has an easygoing temperament, sleeps well, and is described as a very content child
- A Newborn Care Specialist is supporting his nighttime routines through October as Mom and Dad begin their return to work
The Family
- Two working first-time parents with demanding and often unpredictable professional schedules seek a trusted childcare professional to support their growing family
- One parent works primarily from an outside office during the week and from home on Fridays, while the other works from a dedicated home office, works long hours, and travels frequently
- They value professionalism, trust, clear communication, and a nanny who can work harmoniously alongside busy parents while exercising good judgment and autonomy
- Their parenting style blends structure with flexibility, emphasizing manners, healthy boundaries, independence, and a calm home environment
Responsibilities
- Manage all child-related infant care, including maintaining feeding, nap, and activity routines
- Support developmental milestones and transitions, including introducing solids, language development, walking, and eventual potty training
- Plan fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities
- Take the child on outings, classes, walks, and adventures throughout the city while finding social opportunities close to home and within the building community
- Maintain organization and upkeep of the child's spaces, belongings, laundry, and commonly used areas
- Prepare healthy meals and support appropriate food introductions as solids are introduced
- Serve as a knowledgeable guide and trusted partner throughout the child's early years
No driving or swimming responsibilities are required.
Requirements
- Strong infant and toddler experience is required to help guide the family through the next several years
- CPR and First Aid certification are required
- Current vaccinations are required
Qualifications
- You are warm, experienced, proactive, and developmentally knowledgeable
- You bring positive energy, excellent judgment, healthy professional boundaries, and clear communication skills
- You enjoy exploring the city with children and seeking enriching experiences beyond the immediate neighborhood, including green spaces in TriBeCa, just a short walk away
- You are confident partnering with first-time parents and sharing observations, suggestions, and questions openly
- You enjoy creating engaging experiences and being a trusted, consistent presence in a family's life

Additional Travel Information
- The family spends time in the Hamptons throughout the year and may occasionally request support there on Fridays or Mondays during long weekends
- Summer weeks are often spent in the Hamptons
- Additional domestic and occasional international travel may include visits to family in Canada and periodic work-related trips to the West Coast
- A private bedroom will always be provided during travel, and overnight stays receive additional compensation
