On-siteEducation$40–$45/hrPart-time

Position: Part-time, live-out Nanny/Family Assistant for a family on the Upper East Side with 2 children.

Schedule

Approximately 18 hours each weekend, planned in advance:

  • Saturday: Mid-morning start through later evening (typically the longer day).
  • Sunday: Earlier start and earlier finish.
  • Occasional weekday afternoon pickup flexibility is a plus, but not required.
  • Opportunity for live-in weekends during summer stays outside the city.

Start date: Before the new school year begins in September, or as early as August 25.

About the Children

  • 6.5-year-old boy: Joy-filled, smart, and silly. Loves chess, LEGO, soccer, basketball, drawing, paper crafts, and spending time with friends. Athletic and intellectual, he thrives on encouragement and brings a wonderful sense of fun to the home. Sensitive but easy to redirect with fun options.
  • 9-year-old girl: Vivacious and loves dance, performing arts, creativity, and Broadway. Organized, responsible, and emotionally intelligent for her age. Thrives on routines and benefits from a caregiver who is relatable, intuitive, and confidently consistent. Mom hopes for a nanny who can balance boundaries with a soft place when needed.

The siblings share a close bond, with the youngest eager to catch up to his big sister. He benefits from guidance toward his own interests to minimize typical sibling friction.

About the Family

Warm, engaged parents with a collaborative parenting style. They value professionalism, calm confidence, clear boundaries, creativity, and communication. Mom works from home in freelance marketing, and Dad’s family time is limited, so weekends are precious for connecting with the kids and each other. The family has a weekday nanny and seeks seamless weekend support to create meaningful family time and occasional date nights.

Responsibilities

  • Plan engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity and minimize screen time.
  • Escort the children to and from weekend activities throughout the city using public transportation or rideshares.
  • Prepare balanced meals and snacks (the older child loves to eat, while the younger eats minimally).
  • Complete the children’s laundry and keep their rooms organized.
  • Tidy play areas, bedrooms, and common spaces.
  • Run occasional errands, shop for household needs, and assist with household organization during child-free hours.
  • No driving is required, though it’s a plus during summer months outside the city.

Portions of the summer (up to one month) are spent in Bridgehampton. Occasional live-in weekend coverage is available, with private bedroom and bathroom accommodations. The train from the city provides easy access (under two hours). Additional family travel opportunities may arise but are not currently planned.

Requirements

  • Confident, calm, and emotionally intelligent.
  • Creative, energetic, drama-free, and level-headed.
  • Organized, fun, proactive, and dependable.
  • Comfortable maintaining boundaries with confident children.
  • Street-smart and confident navigating New York City.
  • Flexible, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Able to pivot happily and with ease between childcare and family assistant responsibilities.

No pets in the household.

Pay & Benefits

  • $40–$45 per hour.
  • 3 weekends of PTO per year.
  • Weekly OMNY/train pass.
  • Overnight stipends.
