Nail Technician

About the role

Nail Technicians play a crucial role in enhancing the overall spa experience by providing exceptional hand and foot treatments intended to increase, improve, or maintain the health and appearance of the nails. In addition to possessing knowledge and expertise in nail care services, Nail Technicians must be personable with nurturing qualities, have the ability to be attentive to the guests' needs, and have a passion for wellness in a luxury spa setting.

Responsibilities

• Welcome each guest and properly introduce yourself.
• Prepare the guest for services according to the treatment protocols.
• Review the guest’s intake form for any valuable information.
• Perform up to a combination of 7-8 different hand and foot treatments per day.
• Educate the guest about the benefits of the service(s) performed.
• Offer enhancements that pair with the guest’s chosen treatment(s) and educate them on the benefits of the enhancer(s).
• Educate the guest on the products used during the service.
• Recommend retail home care products and explain how to use them properly.
• Communicate current spa promotions to guests.
• Allow the guest to relax by only speaking when spoken to.
• Document pertinent guest information in their records.
• Maintain organization of the treatment and preparation areas.
• Follow all Woodhouse Spa policies.
• Perform all Woodhouse service offerings and Signature protocols.
• Ensure proper lighting, music, cleanliness, and aromatherapy are present.
• Support the needs of the team and the location.
• Maintain the proper care of the spa tools and equipment.
• Ensure safety, sterilization, and sanitation procedures are followed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Communicate with staff and management to ensure the location runs smoothly and according to the schedule.
• Maintain professionalism and discretion at all times.
• Renew licensure as required by the state, prior to the license expiration date.
• Obtain continuous education per state licensing requirements and/or Woodhouse Spa requirements.
• Protect the Woodhouse Spa brand.

Requirements

• Maintain a current Nail Tech or Cosmetology license in the state they are practicing in.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to assess the needs and wants of guests.
• Exceptional time management skills.
• Works efficiently to solve problems in the moment.
• Available to work weekend, evening, and holiday hours.
• Neat and professional appearance following Woodhouse Spa dress code.
• Physically able to perform up to 7-8 services a day.
• Physical strength to stand on feet for long hours at a time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

This is a non-exempt position. You will be paid minimum wage for training sessions and required meetings, and you remain eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws. Service compensation is based on a Pay-Per-Service (PPS) model with a Tier system. The pay rate when in service ranges from $23.99–$39.98 per hour + gratuity. Full details of the PPS structure and performance expectations will be reviewed by spa management.

Schedule

This role requires availability to work a schedule that accommodates the needs of the business, which could consist of days, evenings, and/or weekends.
