NA Category Tablet Director - Morrisville, NC
About the role
Lenovo's North American category organization operates under the Intelligent Device Group (IDG). Within IDG, the 4P framework (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) is managed by dedicated 4P Managers. These teams control product offerings, align pricing, manage inventory, and drive promotions. The NA Category Director position will own the North America Tablet PL, driving strategies and teams to maximize revenue, profit and category growth.
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management from requirements definition and demand planning through launch, enablement, and product end-of-life.
Deliver Business Management System (BMS) to improve forecast accuracy, business predictability, and execution excellence.
Deliver regular updates to senior leadership.
Drive the overall NA Tablet portfolio strategy, including commercial and consumer products.
Lead planning and execution for Relationship, SMB, and Consumer campaigns across U.S. and Canada.
Align campaign strategy and execution with Lenovo Worldwide Business Unit (WW BU) teams.
Ensure timely product announcements supported by robust Sales Enablement and training.
Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Worldwide Product Marketing to achieve financial and operational objectives.
Translate North America product and market needs into WW product and marketing requirements.
Collaborate with supply chain and demand planning to manage parts risk, optimize inventory health, and minimize aged inventory exposure.
Ensure competitive pricing strategies aligned with market dynamics.
Work with Corporate, Global, Public Sector, SMB, Retail and Web sales teams to develop and execute sales strategies that drive Tablet growth.
Educate and enable Lenovo sellers and channel partners on the Tablet portfolio.
Partner with retail sales, channel teams to support deal execution and close opportunities, particularly within Consumer, SMB and Web segments.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Tablet Product Managers and Business Managers.
Foster strong collaboration, accountability, and performance through effective communication, coaching, and talent development.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field required.
15+ years of proven success growing and scaling commercial electronic product categories and expanding routes to market.
7+ years of people management experience in a matrixed global organization.
Deep understanding of the Tablet market, including customer needs, competitive positioning, and technology trends.
Strong ability to analyze competitive landscape and develop differentiated sales and marketing tactics.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Retail and Telco business models.
Knowledge of demand gen and marketing strategies to drive brand awareness.
Knowledge of pricing strategies, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
Strong sense of ownership, transparency and accountability.
Strong sense of team success, including recognition.
Strong written and spoken presence.
Cultural Competency working across Chinese, American, Desi, European, and South American cultural contexts, ensuring messages are communicated with clarity and tact.
MBA degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field strongly preferred.
