MWR Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks related to the operation and maintenance of physical plant facilities.
• Work in at least two of the following trades for the maintenance and repair of buildings and related fixtures:
• Plumbing:
  • Make plumbing repairs to sinks, faucets, commodes, tanks, urinals, P-traps, shut-off valves, and water supply by removing, cleaning, resealing, replacing defective parts or units.
  • Install water heaters, garbage disposals, faucets, and sinks.
• Air Conditioning:
  • Recognize causes of faulty equipment and make repairs on a variety of air conditioning units.
• Electrical:
  • Repair faulty wiring, controls, equipment, and fixtures by removing, replacing, tightening, splicing, soldering, and insulating defective components such as broken and bare wiring, burned-out switches and relays, loose connections and fittings, damaged light fixtures, and poorly operating thermostats.
  • Replace fluorescent and incandescent bulbs and tubes.
• Carpentry:
  • Measure, cut, and construct or repair wood or wood substitute items.
  • Perform basic carpentry repairs such as repairing or replacing screens, window and door frames, molding and trim.
  • Repair and replace drywall and similar products.
• Painting:
  • Perform standard coating methods such as brushing, rolling, and spraying to ensure surfaces are fully coated, protected, and free from drips and runs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
