MWR Facility Operations Assistant (Duty Manager)

About the role

The Facility Operations Assistant (Duty Manager) position oversees various functions at Naval Air Station North Island, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews the schedule of functions and ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Schedules staff as needed to meet facility needs.
  • Works with staff to ensure planned events take place as scheduled.
  • Maintains proper order and enforces facility rules.
  • Enforces admittance policies and handles cash transactions.
  • Maintains a logbook of significant occurrences during the shift.
  • Ensures change machines have adequate change and personnel clock in/out properly.
  • Completes fire safety checks and secures the facility before closing.
  • Performs first level supervisory duties, including initiating personnel actions and training.
  • Supports Navy's Equal Employment Opportunity policy and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues.
  • Maintains and enforces security for funds, supplies, and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must meet federal suitability requirements, including background investigation.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a fine sense of public and customer relations.
  • Knowledge of recreation activity operation and regulations.
  • Effective communication and diplomatic skills.
  • Ability to handle monies and attend MWR Cash Handling Training within first 30 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of PC computers and various software programs.
  • Ability to account for materials, equipment, and money.
