About the role
The Facility Operations Assistant (Duty Manager) position oversees various functions at Naval Air Station North Island, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed.
Responsibilities
- Reviews the schedule of functions and ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available.
- Schedules staff as needed to meet facility needs.
- Works with staff to ensure planned events take place as scheduled.
- Maintains proper order and enforces facility rules.
- Enforces admittance policies and handles cash transactions.
- Maintains a logbook of significant occurrences during the shift.
- Ensures change machines have adequate change and personnel clock in/out properly.
- Completes fire safety checks and secures the facility before closing.
- Performs first level supervisory duties, including initiating personnel actions and training.
- Supports Navy's Equal Employment Opportunity policy and ensures compliance with fire safety, security, and other environmental issues.
- Maintains and enforces security for funds, supplies, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Must meet federal suitability requirements, including background investigation.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a fine sense of public and customer relations.
- Knowledge of recreation activity operation and regulations.
- Effective communication and diplomatic skills.
- Ability to handle monies and attend MWR Cash Handling Training within first 30 days of employment.
- Knowledge of PC computers and various software programs.
- Ability to account for materials, equipment, and money.
