About the role

The Music & Youth Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing music programs at the Music Clubhouses operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County and Music & Youth Initiative. These clubs provide a range of musical activities for pre-teens and teens, including vocal, instrumental, and performance workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Teach youth across a variety of instruments and guide them through the creative process of music production, beat-making, performance preparation, and recording.
  • Facilitate individual and small-group music production sessions using professional DAWs like Logic Pro and Pro Tools.
  • Accountable for operations for the assigned Music Clubhouse location, including managing performance schedules, coordinating live performances, and building a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Support broader branch operations, assisting with programming and other youth development activities as needed.
  • Define the vision for program success and execute program strategies effectively, ensuring measurable results.
  • Coach and mentor staff, volunteers, and youth leaders to improve their performance and develop new skills.
  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time, gather and manage necessary data, and comply with all administrative policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for adhering to organizational health and safety policies, maintaining discipline, and reporting incidents as required.
  • Work independently with limited supervision, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner, maintain emotional control, and make good decisions under pressure.

Requirements

  • Essential Functions and Responsibilities as outlined above.
  • Education and Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or working towards completion of a degree, minimum 1 year of experience working with youth, proficiency on multiple instruments, and experience teaching youth.
  • Minimum Requirements: Ability to work regular business hours, periodic nights, and weekends; ability to lead and motivate a group of individuals; ability to prioritize effectively; ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to work collaboratively in groups; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive; experience setting and meeting goals; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work in a non-profit environment; ability to obtain and review CPR/First Aid certification by the deadline.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Music, bilingual, experience with live performance coordination or open mic events, knowledge of digital music publishing, podcasting, or DJ software, experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement, experience in a non-profit environment.
