Music Teacher - Long-Term Substitute

About the role

St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic School seeks an energetic and organized Music Teacher for a full-time maternity‑leave substitute position (approx. March–May 2027, through the end of the school year). The role serves PreK‑8th grade students. All curriculum, lesson plans, and project materials are prepared and accessible via Google Drive, Google Slides, and/or Google Classroom. The substitute will execute prepared plans, maintain classroom management and routines, and continue various levels of music‑making across all grades.

Responsibilities

• Execute prepared daily lesson plans via Google Suite.
• Maintain established classroom management, behavior expectations, and daily routines.
• Supervise student use of classroom instruments and materials and keep an organized classroom environment.
• Lead songs, games, and movement activities to continue a spirit of music‑making.

Requirements

• Experience with elementary and/or middle school classroom management.
• Confidence using Google Suite and classroom technology.
• Strong sense of organization and communication.
• Faith‑filled applicants who uphold the school’s Catholic values and commitment to student development (Catholic affiliation not required).
• Comfortable singing and leading movement‑based activities (certified music educator not required).
