Music Teacher

About the role

Fusion Academy is a fully accredited 1-to-1 private school for grades 5–12. As a Music Teacher, you'll have the flexibility to shape your schedule, design creative lessons, and collaborate with passionate colleagues. Please note: Not all campuses serve grades 4 and 5, and specific details will be shared during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Teach in a truly personalized way — one student at a time
• Adapt lessons and assessments to meet each learner's needs
• Mentor each student and support their social-emotional growth
• Build strong, consistent partnerships with parents and guardians
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to campus life or culture
• Keep student records accurate and organized
• Invest in your own growth through reflection, feedback, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees, music certifications, or a teaching credential is a plus
• Ability and willingness to teach a wide range of music courses (recording arts, music appreciation, music theory, bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, piano, songwriting, & vocals), following content standards — curriculum and resources provided
• Experience with the tools and techniques associated with contemporary recording and music production: microphones, digital audio, audio editing, MIDI and virtual instruments, audio effects & processors, synthesis, sampling, and mixing
• Proficiency with at least two of the three industry standard DAWs — ProTools, Logic, & Ableton Live
• Experience working with students, including those with learning differences, neurodiversity, accelerated learning needs, and/or mental health challenges
• Mentoring experience and a passion for social-emotional learning
• Outgoing, adaptable, and eager to thrive in a dynamic, student-centered environment
• Skilled with technology, curious about innovation, and open to learning new tools
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• A growth mindset with the flexibility to pivot and problem-solve as needed
