About the Role
St. Raphael Catholic School is seeking a full-time music educator to join its faculty. This role involves planning and delivering engaging music instruction, fostering an appreciation for the arts, and contributing to the spiritual formation of students through music.
Key Responsibilities
- Accept and actively support the mission of Saint Raphael Catholic School as articulated at the diocesan and school level
- Model and integrate virtues and values that support schoolwide core values of reverence, service, and leadership
- Serve as a witness to the Catholic faith and contribute to the spiritual formation of students through music and the arts
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music instruction that fosters an appreciation for music, beauty, creativity, and artistic expression
- Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes joy, discipline, participation, and confidence in student performance and creativity
- Collaborate with school administration and faculty in the planning and preparation of weekly school liturgies and other prayer experiences throughout the year
- Help students understand the role of sacred music in the life of the Church and encourage active participation in liturgical music
- Coordinate and support school performances and fine arts experiences, including Christmas and spring productions, concerts, recitals, or other schoolwide events
- Utilize developmentally appropriate and research-informed instructional practices that support student growth and engagement
- Integrate technology intentionally and appropriately to enhance music instruction and student learning
- Maintain positive, professional, and collaborative relationships with students, families, faculty, and administration
- Serve as a positive and flexible member of the faculty, contributing to a healthy and mission-driven team culture
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and remain current with best practices in music education and instructional methodology
Qualifications & Requirements
- Practicing Catholics who have prior teaching experience preferred
- College Degree in Education, ideally with a specialization in Music Instruction
- 3 or more years of related teaching experience in the area of Education/Teaching
- Valid North Carolina teaching license in content area
- Employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background check
Schedule
- Hours per week: 32 (4 days a week)
- Position Start Date: August 2026
