About the role

The primary responsibility is to repair musical string instruments in a timely and proficient manner, ensuring they are returned in good playing order.

Responsibilities

  • Works on rental returned instruments in an efficient & timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for production reporting.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

The first Music & Arts was founded by Benjamin O'Brien in 1952 in Bethesda, MD. Over the years, it has grown to become the largest band and orchestra instrument retailer in the United States, now part of the Guitar Center enterprise.

Minimum Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An apprenticeship or a diploma from an accredited repair school is required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Must be able to use standard repair shop tooling and equipment.
  • Two years of relevant work experience, working on musical instruments on a daily basis.
  • Skilled understanding and function of one or all brass, woodwind, percussion and orchestral instruments, and the ability to repair same in a timely and efficient manner.

Preferred Requirements

  • Four years of relevant work experience, working on musical instruments on a daily basis.
  • Advanced understanding and function of one or all brass, woodwind, percussion and orchestral instruments, and the ability to repair same in a timely and efficient manner.
