Summary/Primary Purpose

The Salvation Army Mission: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide music classes to school age children in 2nd Grade through High School and adults.
• Participate and lead students during Shield Fine Arts recitals/concerts.
• Provide supervision for the children in the program.
• Enforce all rules and fair discipline among program participants.
• Report any accidents/incidents to the director and complete the proper forms.
• Responsible for the set up and take down of games and equipment used for activities.
• Positively interact with volunteers and visitors.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years music experience working with children/adults.
• A minimum bachelor’s degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• An advanced degree or training is desired however combination of High School diploma, or its equivalent and teaching experience will be considered.

Working Conditions

• The work environment is a setting with moderate and occasionally high noise levels.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
