Music Education - Special Sessions Instructor
Brief Description Of Duties
The successful candidate will teach a weeklong course focusing on historically underrepresented and marginalized composers and communities in the field of music education. The course will unpack decolonial practices in music education, specifically related to inquiry-based pedagogy and culturally responsive teaching. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to equity and inclusion through their research, teaching, and/or service. The candidate must demonstrate awareness and experience understanding the needs of a student population of great diversity – in age, abilities, cultural background, ethnicity, religion, economic background, primary language, sexual orientation, gender identity, and academic preparation – through inclusive course materials, teaching strategies and advisement.
Required Qualifications
- MA or MM in Music
- Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching and other comparable experience.
Compensation
Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience. To learn more about range placement, please see University Policy S21-2 . The maximum rate (listed below) is the usual salary to be paid to a faculty member per WTU in Special Session.
- L-A / Range 2: $2279 per WTU
- L-B / Range 3: $2497 per WTU
- L-C / Range 4: $3146 per WTU
- L-D / Range 5: $3977 per WTU
