About the role
Musical expertise and a passion for teaching are required. The successful candidate will teach music classes at the middle school level.
Responsibilities
- Teach music classes to students in grades 6-8
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Maine educational standards
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning
Requirements
- A valid Maine Department of Education teaching certificate with the 614 - Music endorsement
- Experience teaching middle school music
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Education preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administration
Skills
- Effective classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Knowledge of current music education practices
