Museum Security Officer (Casual Position)

Summary of Responsibilities

• Facility Patrols
• Special Event Supervision and Setup

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving, time management, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Gmail
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and lift test
• Associate's Degree (Criminal Justice, Administration, and/or Emergency Management) and/or an accredited Law Enforcement or Professional Security Officer Certification, additional certifications (CIPS, CPR & First Aid)
• 6 months of experience in private security and/or law enforcement or a similar field

Required Work Schedule

• Evening and/or weekend availability required
• Work schedule may vary during Thursdays 4:15 pm - 10:15 pm (Mead Art - Academic year only), Saturday / Sunday: 8:30 am - 5:15 pm (Mead Art or Beneski Natural History), and some weekday shifts

Pay

The expected salary range for this job opportunity is: $16.00-18.00 per hour. The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations.

Schedule

Due to the nature of the position, evening and/or weekend availability is required. The work schedule may vary during the following times: Thursdays 4:15 pm - 10:15 pm (Mead Art - Academic year only), Saturday / Sunday: 8:30 am - 5:15 pm (Mead Art or Beneski Natural History), and some weekday shifts.
