Required Qualifications
- Member of the Security Department responsible for ensuring safety of employees, visitors, and artwork.
- Patrol galleries to ensure compliance with visitor policies.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including locking doors, checking floors, and alarming/disarming alarms.
- Maintain a safe environment by monitoring visitor behavior and reporting incidents.
- Handle front desk duties, monitor front door, assist guests, answer phone, and monitor art deliveries.
- Secure various posts on a rotational basis, inspect bags, inform visitors of policies, and maintain gallery flow.
- Report incidents to supervisor and document them.
- Identify safety hazards and report to Chief of Security and Deputy Director.
- Assist with emergency evacuations and special events.
- Perform fireguard duties as qualified.
- Read departmental memos and remain informed about policy revisions.
Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of security-related experience.
- Able to walk, run, stand, and stay physically active for longer periods.
- Able to lift heavy objects (physical protective barriers).
- Good communication skills for professional and respectful interactions.
- Punctuality is essential.
- Professional, attentive, and reliable.
- Able to work weekends.
- Security experience in a customer service-oriented environment with direct customer relations preferred.
- Security license not required but experience in a museum or gallery setting preferred.
