Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiologist

About the Role

Dartmouth Health’s Department of Radiology is seeking a fellowship-trained musculoskeletal (MSK) radiologist to join the MSK imaging division at the level of Assistant, Associate, or (Full) Professor, depending on experience. All candidates with an interest in teaching and an academic environment—including those with little direct academic experience—are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will aspire to clinical excellence and participate in delivering cutting-edge musculoskeletal imaging, including MR, CT, ultrasound, and plain film.

The Department is a national leader in radiology education, hosting multiple outstanding residencies (Diagnostic Radiology and an integrated DR/IR program) and a robust educational program for students, residents, and fellows. Faculty participate in teaching and scholarly activity, with opportunities to expand educational offerings and collaborate across disciplines. The MSK section maintains strong working relationships with other departments, including orthopedic surgery, and participates in regular multidisciplinary meetings.

Faculty at Dartmouth Health serve as Assistant, Associate, or full Professors at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and have access to the academic and cultural resources of the health system, Dartmouth College, and the medical school.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality musculoskeletal imaging services (MR, CT, ultrasound, plain film) in a patient-centered, collaborative environment.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows as part of a nationally recognized radiology education program.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and scholarly activities, with opportunities to develop a local or national reputation in clinical excellence.
• Engage in professional growth opportunities, including clinical advancement and leadership roles within the department.

Requirements

• Diagnostic Radiology Board Certified or Board Eligible.
• Fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal imaging or relevant experience with a demonstrated interest in the field.
• Must obtain and maintain medical licenses in both New Hampshire and Vermont.
• Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor rank at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, based on experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience or interest in developing a local or national reputation for clinical excellence and teaching skill.

The selected candidate will join Dartmouth Health’s team of 60 radiologists at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), the system’s tertiary care hub and Academic Medical Center. DHMC is New Hampshire’s only Level 1 trauma center, a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and home to a fleet of helicopter and ground-based medical transport services. The health system includes 802 beds (458 at DHMC) and handles over 3 million outpatient visits annually, supported by 15,000 employees and 2,300 providers.

• Annual salary range of $578,000 to $606,000 for a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent position, depending on experience and qualifications.
