About the role

MUSC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the South Carolina Alzheimer's Network (SCAN) within the Cognitive & Behavioral Neurology Division.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive and behavioral neurological conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide longitudinal follow-up care.
  • Collaborate closely with neurologists, APPs, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, treatment options, and available resources.
  • Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational opportunities.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Interest in cognitive neurology, dementia care, geriatrics, neurology, primary care, or behavioral health.
  • Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS).
  • Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in South Carolina.
  • Experience in geriatric or neurology settings preferred.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
