About the role
MUSC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the South Carolina Alzheimer's Network (SCAN) within the Cognitive & Behavioral Neurology Division.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive and behavioral neurological conditions.
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide longitudinal follow-up care.
- Collaborate closely with neurologists, APPs, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, treatment options, and available resources.
- Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational opportunities.
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
- Current BLS certification.
- Interest in cognitive neurology, dementia care, geriatrics, neurology, primary care, or behavioral health.
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS).
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in South Carolina.
- Experience in geriatric or neurology settings preferred.
