About the role

MUSC Health – Kershaw Medical Center is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Orthopedic Hospitalist program. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative orthopedic team focused on delivering exceptional inpatient musculoskeletal care in a community centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in the management of orthopedic patients across the continuum of care, supporting surgical services, inpatient rounding, consults, admissions, discharges, and perioperative coordination.
  • Conduct daily rounding, patient evaluations, admissions, consultations, and discharges.
  • Aid in perioperative care coordination and postoperative management.
  • Support orthopedic surgical workflows and continuity of care across inpatient services.
  • Participate in patient and family education to optimize recovery and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary teams.
  • Contribute to a culture centered on teamwork, efficiency, and patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Orthopedic, surgical, hospital medicine, or acute care experience preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
  • Current license to practice as an NP or PA in South Carolina
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or higher

Pay

Salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week.
